»Imperial Parliament
The Imperial Parliament of the Shalman Commonwealth is a gigantic 10.000-seat mashroom shaped building in the heart of the economic district of Ylmeria, about 26km north of the Imperial Quarter of the Imperial Capital. Ambassadors (i.e. Members of Parliament) are elected every five years and represent, in most cases, planetary systems. Of the 13 ihabited worlds, each one sends 769 Ambassadors to the Imperial Parliament. The Imperial Parliament is unicameral.

»Regional Governments
Regional Governments are the legislative authority of the 13 subdivisions of the Shalman Commonwealth. The Imperial Government sets the guidelines by which Regional Governments must abide, but the every-day matters of each Constituent Country lay in its Regional Government. There are currently 13 Regional Governments, including the one of Atridea. Regional Governments may have different rules of Procedure for each Constituent Country.

»Landsraad
The Landsraad is an ancient institution of the Shalman Commonwealth. Prior to the formation of the Second Empire, and the adoptation of a Constitution, the Landsraad was the legislative body of the Imperial Government. That is to say, the Commonwealth was never an absolute monarchy. Even in modern times, the Royal Houses of the Commonwealth meet at the Landsraad to discuss important matters, though it does not have any important power.
